Hi Mike,

jeeeesh, no wonder she thought you'd flipped out.  Didn't happen to have a
couple of guys in white coats arrive at the door? ;-)   You don't tell them what
yer going to do in that fashion when it comes to cutting up the under shorts.
Yer lucky she didn't pepper spray you to keep you down. ;-)

If you really want to do a number on them, take a clean pair, cut the big bottom
part out leaving a nice big hole, then throw them back into the laundry basket
without saying anything.  Don't worry, as you'll have to say lots later when
from the laundry room  you hear a shrill cry of , "What the h... is this?"  :-)

Then you can try to explain your way out of it when she wants to know what
you've been drinking! :-) Your response will be of course,  "Why Lagavullin my
dear!"  as you cradle your favorite Leica, sporting a nicely cleaned lens!
