If (like me) you use a 35 most of the time and you really have to squint to see the 35mm frame lines in a .72X viewfinder, then don't get the .85X viewfinder. Looking for the 35 frame lines in a .85X viewfinder is like trying to find the 28mm frame lines in a .72X viewfinder. On the other hand, the .85X is a big help framing and focusing shots with a 90mm lens. I have one of each, and tend to keep a 35mm lens on the .72X, while using the .85X for a 24 (with the aux viewfinder) and a 90. As to the second question, I believe some of the components of the M6 are made in Portugal, with final assembly done in Solms. About the only difference between your Canadian-made M4-P and a German-made M6 is the meter in the M6---there is no difference in quality. Any differential in resale prices between the Canadian bodies and earlier German bodies is due to a preference on the part of collectors for German-manufactured bodies. As far as day-to-day photography is concerned, it makes no difference.
