Subject: [Leica] RE: Noctilux-measurable light loss?

Here's a real simple test for observing *and* measuring light loss from
UV filters.

1) Go out into the bright noonday sun.
2) Hold the UV filter of choice between the sunlight and where you can
see the shadow.
3) Observe there is a difference between the amount of light passing
through the UV filter and the raw sunlight.
4) Take a photo with a Noctilux [on topic] or any other lens using your
film of choice.
5) Get the processed film analyzed with a densitometer; you *will* note
a difference between the two areas.
