Subject: Re: [Leica] OT: VueScan for Mac

Thanks to all who responded off-list to my plea for help. As it turned out, I needed a newer version of Stuffit expander.

I've gotten the PhotoSmart scanner running on the Mac using Ed Hamrick's VueScan software, but it isn't perfect yet.

I don't know if the remaining problems are hardware, software or operator: on my first couple of scans the red and blue channels are mis-calibrated, like I'm getting color fringes within each channel. The green channel is OK.

I'll have a list of bugs and usability problems for Ed Hamrick but in general I'm happy with VueScan, especially since is the only way short of writing my own program to use the PhotoSmart on the Mac.
