By the way, on an somewhat related thread about the value of the UV filter, I recently put a very very expensive lens face down on a rock while changing lenses, without realizing that I didn't have the lens cap on. The UV filter was undamaged, but my "almost coronary" took 5 years off my life (in fact, 5 years is how much longer I have in the loan payments for that lens.).
