John-
I have been using it for a few months with my Minolta Dual Scan with SCSI
interface- the older scanner, and I wil have to admit that it is a pretty
good program! I was surprised that to get it you buy the printing software,
and they give you Vuescan free!!! It should be a stand alone program.
It is not as seamless as the scanner software, but for getting quality scans
it is very good, and not expensive, so living with the longer learning curve
is alright by me!
On some B&W negatives, the Minoltas software will give me what I can
descride as digital 'artifacts' that can make a print look less than
perfect, but the Vuescan does a really good job with a double or triple
scan. It will make some really humongous files, too!
