And of course talking about resolution and graininess leaves entirely aside the matter of tonal gradation, which is a more important visual property of any film than lines-per-millimeter and granularity. Films and developers that are discussed as being "about equal" around here are radically different in the way they render tonality, and tonality can be measured. But we're not talking about it, so it must not matter. The beautiful part of this is that anyone who thinks TP is a great film gets stuck with...having to take pictures on TP. I can hardly think of a more fitting punishment. - --Mike P.S. Bob Clemens, who was a Kodak staff photographer for 25 years, actually took some good pictures on TP. So there *is* an exception to the rule. But he HAD to use the damn stuff--it was his job!
