AF cameras can't, for some reason, use ground glass focusing screens, and so the ability to manually focus is restricted. Nevertheless, AF apparently works well enough, and enough of the time, that folks use it with good results. It's the old "horses for courses" argument: it's a tool that's not appropriate to all situations, but pre-eminently suited to some. Dan
