Interesting. My anecdotal experience differs.

When I first got my M6TTL, I cocked the shutter after every shot.
After a couple weeks, the batteries were drained. Since then, I've
forced myself to get into the habit of leaving the shutter uncocked.
Usually, what this means is when I get done shooting what I want to
shoot, and I shoot one more frame because it's hard to break an old
habit. :) I'm on the same batteries for the past six months now.

Now, it could be that my first batteries were bad. It could be that
I'm more conscious of avoiding pressure. But, when it's uncocked, I
can't get the red LEDs to pop on. So it could be that it doesn't
drain the battery.

I'd trust John's ammeter confirmation over my experience, but I'll
continue to leave my M6 uncocked when it goes back into its case. :)
