It's certainly true that generally the ones with the cleanest printing technique
tend to produce the most boring images. A good many visual potential greats
don't seem to know how to spot a print.
This could also be said about format. The bigger the dumber. We call it
"formality" but it a good many cases it's just boring.
Is this true on this list?
Well Leica is small format, but it does imply shelling out some bigger bucks for
the tops in glass.
Does glass not matter when you're hand holding? We go over that one over and
over and of course it does.
But a good photographer with a cheap camera will produce better shots than a not
so great photographer with a real good camera and lens. Just like a good chisel.....
