I am very satisfied with its performance for medium format, but there are of course some limitations. The maximum optical resolution is 1200 dpi. This is fine for medium format but inadequate for 35mm (assuming you want to make 8x10 or bigger prints). Also, the dynamic range is 3.2--more than adequate for negatives but so so for chromes. If your only goal is JPEGs for web display, none of this matters. But if you want to make prints from 35mm negatives and chromes, I suggest a dedicated film scanner. I use a Nikon LS-2000 for my 35mm stuff. For considerably less you can get the Nikon LS-30 (I think that is what it is called) or the HP Photosmart. The latter costs no more than the Epson 1200U Photo. Nathan Douglas Cooper wrote: > This printer advice is invaluable.
