Terry,

1) Really Right Stuff is offering a shortened SC-17 cord: the RRS-17.

2) A better solution, IMO, is the small Contax extension cable 100 (1
meter).
It is shorter, lighter and there is a foot on the extended side that you
will not find on the SC-17 (on this one there is only a screw hole).
That cable is prefect with any bracket with a flash connecting shoe and
also is the best with a Visoflex + OTVXO vertical magnifier.
