Ted,Tina,and Walt,

I gotta disagree here(of course)!
Not everyone using 35mm (oops, the LEICA :>)) is a photojournalist on the
run whose only preoccupation is to get something, anything, on film.
Tripods, like fast lenses in low light, have their place where they shine and
any self respecting photog has to know when to use each.
There are literally tens of thousands of brilliant, riveting images out there
all taken using a tripod, mirror lockup, etc that move people as much as any
low light hand held reportage image.
The guy who's shooting street conflict in Jerusalem, for example, using a tripod
is as big a dummy as the guy who's shooting a handheld landscape at 1/4 sec
with his Asph 35. Both may get the pic,but neither is maximizing their
opporturity.
You gotta know when to use the proper tools and technique.

Rebuttals anyone??
