I am checking with Leica to make sure that I would not be infringing on any extant patents, and have gotten a machine shop to give me a price on making a run of negative carriers that are close copies of the originals- The example I have is nickel plated brass, and comes from a early VALOY, but the ones I am proposign will be aluminum, hard anodized black with the guide opins and ramps. I am contemplating making the negative opening slightly larger than the 35mm negative since some people like to print the black border around the pint. The initial run is only about 30 or so, and they won't be 'cheap', Pricewise, they will be under $100, hopefully in the neighborhood of $80. but they will be top quality and worthy to be used in any Leica enlarger! - I do need to get some feedback on any of you Leicaphiles who have these old enlargers, and who might be interested!
