Subject: RE: [Leica] Using 60mm filter size lenses

I think part of the problem was that it was my first taste of the Leica
after a long time with an SLR. I found it much heavier than I expected and
the transition from a TTL view to a partially blocked viewfinder was a bit
overwhelming. After a couple of weeks with the Summicron 50 I became more
accustomed to the camera and then the transition to the Noctilux was much
easier. I just got the Summicron 35/2 pre-asph from Don Chatterton yesterday
and found that even that little lens with the shade will block some of the
viewfinder but it doesn't really bother me anymore. I love this camera.

If you were unhappy with the 75/1.4 because of viewfinder obstruction, you
will be unhappy with the Noctilux too. It is the price you pay for super
high speed glass on a rangefinder camera. Personally, I do not find myself
conscious of the problem when shooting. If I am bench testing lenses at the
store I notice it but not in actual use.
