Thanks John (and Lucien),

I didn't know that Pentax's pins were in the same relative places.
Interesting. I'll think about this as a solution. At first glance,
though, that's a lot of cables and adaptors when all Quantum could have
done is put a plain shoe on the top of their adaptor (which in fairness
was designed for the R8, not a rangefinder.) Lets see, with my T2 I'd
have a cable going to an adaptor attached to an adaptor which would be
attached to a cable attached to an adaptor which would be attached to my
camera. Plus of course there's the other cable going to the battery
around my waist. I usually feel a bit like a fly caught in a spider web
with my present setup, but this might be too much.

By the way, Quantum mentioned in their post that the QF23 adaptor may be
discounted from the $213 list price. I paid $152.95 for mine from B&H.
