Hi B. D.,

     As the meter cell in most cameras are reading rflected light and as most of the 
reflected light cells 'average' the reading to about 18% grey, it stands
to reason that the reflectivity of the object is not important; any slight
changes in color over time will be compensated for by the meter's cell
ability to 'average' the reading.
