It's a wonder no other manufacturers sought an alliance earlier.
Zeiss's collaboration with Sony has certainly lifetd their capabilities optically, always their weak spot compared to Canon.
And no, I've not heard of the Dicomar either, but I guess any small format zoom lens is completely new to Leica's domain of late.
The liason with Panasonic (who are the makers of at least one of Leica's compact cameras) now seems to be quite a two way thing.

A digital video camera with Leica "Dicomar" has been released (earlier than
expected).  Appanrently, the lens is manufactured by Matsushita under the
licence of Leica Camera.

Has someone ever heard of "Dicomar"?
