Hi Dick,

Actually, my initial euphoric reaction to the 2.0/28mm is a bit tempered by the
fact that I already have the 2.8/24mm and the 1.4/35mm (the latter is my most
frequently used lens). So it is unlikely that I would add the 28mm to this
outfit, unless I were to sell some of my existing lenses, which I do not see
myself doing.

I know what you mean about being able to carry the entire outfit. I too can
easily do it with the M outfit. My R outfit lives in a large bag which I take
along in the car, but for walking around I only take a subset of it, for
example the R8 with the 35-70mm zoom and the SL with the 19mm or something like
that.

Like you, I find the R system excellent, and in many ways the lenses for the R
amaze me even more than ditto for the M. For me, both systems have their place.

Don't chide yourself for having spent too much on Leicas. At 73, you have a
right to enjoy life and your hobby. You can drive around with the "We are
spending our children's inheritance" bumper sticker; on the other hand, I am 39
and I *should* feel guilty about spending my children's college fund on Leicas
;-)
