Get a tripod which you don't have to raise the center post up to make the camera eye level. Bogan Manfrotto are Italian design at a good price and good quality. Gitzo's now also owned by Bogan Manfrotto are a French design exquisite in quality but at an exquisite price to match. I've gone Gitzo but plenty of my pro photo friends have Bogans. Crouch over tripods seldom get used and end up distorting ones perspective on tripod use with the back pain involved. Mark William Rabiner Last week I shoot pictures of a guy standing on one with one foot with the other foot on top of a fence as he shot the Henry Wienhard ruins next to Portlands, Powells bookstore. (With an F5). And his assistant who helped him up there just walked away! Eye level shooting makes a big demand on a tripod.
