If I had it to do it over again, I'd probably forgo the purchase (it was very much an impulse buy when I was browsing (dangerous!) at a local camera store). On the other hand, am I willing to part with it now that I have it? No way! It _does_ work, and is a heck of a lot more convenient than having a screw-in filter that you'd have to screw off, adjust, then screw back on in the correct position. But $350 is a lot to pay for convenience. If you're mostly shooting nature, my vote would go to saving the money and buying a B+W polarizer. If you're mostly shooting candids (as I am), then the speed and convenience of the universal polarizer may well be worth the outrageous price to you (which is the same justification I used in buying the M to begin with!). If you shoot Velvia, then you don't need a polarizer at all.
