The adapter I was using didn't line up the lens at 12 o'clock. I went to my local camera shop and tried different Bowers adapters until I got one that lined up at the right position. Since then, no problems! Dave Schaller Newton, MA From: "David Freedman" <dpfreedman@worldnet.att.net> Subject: [Leica] Heliar vignetting help ... Message-ID: <00b501c00210$10e8d300$2cf94e0c@uymfdlvk> References: <200008090701.AAA04327@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> I recall seeing this subject addressed recently when I wasn't particularly interested and now that I am, I can't seem to locate the messages in the LUG archive. Hence this plea for help. I recently purchased a Heliar and the first few rolls are showing what looks to be pronounced vignetting in the lower left hand corner. As I recall from the earlier LUG messages, one possible "fix" for this is to rotate the mount on the lens so that it lines up properly when screwed into the L-M adapter. I do not have the Voigtlander L-M adapter (Bowers I think) and the lens is indeed skewed by several degrees when screwed in. Before I start loosening screws on the mount I was hoping that someone with a better memory or filing system would kindly forward the relevant information. Profuse thanks in advance. Dave F.
