Subject: Re: [Leica] R8 Bugs Ironed-Out Yet?

I have two R8s and both broke down during important assignments with the
same fault, one just after a week of use the other after a few months. The
fault was basically that the aperture control mechanism went awry, jamming
the lens to the mount. The lenses were also new (one with a 19 the other
with a 35-70). It was not easy to get them fixed in a reasonable amount of
time without kicking up a fuss but now for almost a week now I have them
both in working order and they are indeed a pleasure to use.

I am not however planning to replace or sell off my extensive EOS system any
time soon though...

IMHO the only reason to use the R system is the lenses. That is however a
pretty good reason...
