The best recent deal I have heard of is a dinged up M3 for $600.  But those
are rare indeed, and the person who found that camera reports to have a
psychic power which draws cheap gear to him.  I wish I was so lucky!  I did
buy my M3 for $300 (came with a collapsible 50mm Elmar lens), but that was
in 1980!
