In the final analysis silver printing is superior to digital. It depends on what digital one is talking about. The photographic printing process has a latitude that certain digital printing processes surpass. I do agree that film is the best medium at this point, since, as has been stated, digital sensors just aren't even close to film at this point, as far as resolution, but scanning film can give you a damn good result.
