[Leica] New mailing list: Digital Silver (Photoshop for Photographers)

Hi all

Following discussion on the Leica list, I've established a new mailing list
for anyone who's interested. I hope it's obvious from what follows that this
is meant to supplement, not supplant, the many excellent groups who already
service some of the areas this list will address. Here's the pitch:

If you've ever wondered if there was an easier way to burn in the corners of
a print in PhotoShop, or to master the complexities of Unsharp Mask, or had
a feeling that adjustment layers might be useful, but didn't know how, or
got a headache trying to figure out what settings you should use for saving
a Jpeg for the web, or couldn't figure out why your trannies have no shadows
when you scan them on your new filmscanner, or spent a week trying to get a
neutral black and white print on an inkjet printer using RGB inks, this
could be a list for you.

Digital Silver is a new mailing list for photographers who use Adobe
Photoshop as their virtual darkroom, outputting their images digitally, but
originating on conventional films. Topics for discussion include tips,
tricks, troubleshooting and techniques for both color and b/w image
manipulation on both Mac and PC, along with recommendation and general
discussion of related peripherals such as filmscanners and inkjet printers
(although detailed discussion should be directed to the relevant specialist
lists). 

A fundamental part of the aim of this list is to build a searchable
knowledge base of virtual darkroom techniques developed by list members, so
others don't have to suffer the same growing pains we have.
