The shutter bounce problem is the only one that required me to put it in the repair shop, and I don't think it came from the factory with that problem. As I recall, I bought the camera only about ten days before the trip, ran some film through it, and didn't see any problems. It's equally likely that the 15-hour massage by a 747 on the run to Sydney loosened something up. Cameras are just mechanical contrivances, and can be expected to go off song.
