i stumbled onto the gay pride parade in paris as i headed over to a friends
house for dinner. the place de la bastille was totally closed off to
traffic and was filled with folk pressed into a compact crowd that swayed
and undulated to loud, mindless music (the best kind) as giant trucks
surmounted by scantily clad men, women (and ?) - who likewise bumped and
grinded to the beat - drove slowly through the crowd. i had a iiif/25
skopar with me and shot more or less randomly, holding the camera over my
head or just at arm's length in front of me, when possible. i shot only 1/2
a roll, however, as i stupidly didn't have any extra film in my bag (!).
