When they built the M6 they changed many of those adjustment points to a fixed mechanism that would not require so much maintainance. That's why the M6 shutter requires less periodic adjustment, for example. But some saw the move as cheapening the Leica and complained. "You can't adjust them anymore," they said. The reason they did it, as I understand it, was that the M4s needed constant attention, although mine seemed to work fine. Arthur
