Have you tried printing to an Epson photo printer yet? What about
reading PhotoCDs? I have only gotten 300 DPI out of my Stylus Photo 1200
thus far (under RH6.1) but I haven't tried all that hard: I've decided
that I really need to have more of a life, hence I mostly buy my Linux
in shrinkwrap these days! Thank goodness for precompiled RPM binaries
;-)

The bad thing about Linux is that if you're really anal about keeping
your system on the cutting edge, revised kernels are posted EVERY DAY.

FWIW, the old Ansel Adams Screensavers package is mostly a bunch of JPEG
images that work great as Enlightenment wallpaper.
