Hmm, figuring depth of field for "street shooting" with a 35mm lens wide open? Guesstimating focus? Hmm? I'm sorry I don't get it? Are you shooting secret photos at night on the street? Is it dark? Is that why you're shooting wide open? No? You want limited depth of field and that's why you're shooting wide open? Why not just focus then rather than guesstimate? And this spreadsheet, what's up with that? Do you take your laptop along and calculate your depth of field so you can guestimate? Wouldn't it be simplier (and less noticeable) to just focus? I know I sound like I'm trying to be a jerk but I'm really not (or at least I don't think I am). I just don't understand. I admit I'm not well versed in "street shooting" but usually if I'm worried about depth of field I stop down a bit. When I want to buzz a background I focus on the subject (I don't use a 35mm lens either). But hey, I'm kinda simple this way . . . Bob (thought he understood depth of field) McEowen
