I've used this lens, both single-coated and multi-coated, and the 55/2.8 Micro AIS, and neither can come near the image quality the Leica 60/2.8 Macro lens gives. Likewise, comparing the 300/4.5 (i've used ED and non-ED versions) with Leica counterparts, there's really no contest. The non-ED cannot record the image detail you'd get with a Leica 250 or 280, and the ED, while a very fine lens in the in-focus areas, produces very harsh out-of-focus areas.
