When I use the insert in other "satchel" shaped bags I just have a suitably but piece of 1/8 or 1/4 inch closed cell foam I stick in the bottom of the bag - I just use stuff that has come in boxes as packing - (or you could make slightly more spiffy ones cut to for each of the three compartments.
