Dear LUGgers,
I've read your problems of maintenance about the vulcanite of Leica bodies.
The best product for the best maintenance is vaseline paste. (paste, not
oil!!!!).
You must extend the vaseline onto the vulcanite with a finger or with a
small piece of cotton. Then you must put your Leica into a wardrobe and
forget it for a week!!
Then you must remove the vaseline with a wool cloth. If your Leica body is
old, you must extend the vaseline onto the vulcanite for a second time. Then
put your camera into the wardrobe an go for a short vacation!!!! (7 days)
Finally, remove the vaseline with you wool cloth and then look at your
camera. Fantastic!!!!! Like new!!!! Try to believe!!!!

Good work at all,

Giorgio Ferrari
