Actually down here, it is pronounced with three syllables- denoting its importance in our southern lexicon... i.e.- "shee-ya-it" The elongated invective is saved for really horrendous occasions like dropping your Leica into a swamp during a 'coon hunt, or jamming the threads of your favorite Hektor lens on your brassy pitted IIIc. I am sure that a sweet southern Belle like Tina uttering the expletive in an Honduran swamp coulda knocked any caimans senseless within earshot when her Nocti hit the sludge!
