[story snipped: dan saw a leica, he held a leica, he bought a leica]

>The irony is that I've been so swamped with work that I have yet to even
>take the camera out of the box. :( I'll finally be able to get to that
>tomorrow night. I plan to spend the better part of the weekend shooting.

dear god, dan! do NOT attempt to remove the leica from the box! that will
begin the process of wear and devaulate it considerably. if you were to
remove it from the box, for example, and say, take it on safari to africa
where it is eaten by an elephant and passed three days later in a swamp
outside of narobi, and upon recovery you discover that the light meter has
stopped working and the shutter is frozen but is otherwise cosmetically
intact, you'll have to advertise it as "MINT MINUS" when you go to sell it
on ebay. besides, no one is yet sure what will happen if you try and put
film in a leica....

keep it in that box and do all your snap-shootin with a minilux.

your best interests in mind,
