Subject: [Leica] Visoflex/Bellows/Hektor question

I have a BM 135/4.5 Hektor serial number 1621324 with E39 filter thread and
am trying to hook it up to my Visoflex 3 / Bellows 2 combo. I have the
16596G bellows adapter and can bayonet the complete lens on that way but
would prefer to mount it so that I can get lower magnifications as well. I
read the Bellows 2 instruction book and the Leica Catalogue no. 41 and
ordered bellows ring 16558 and adapter tube 16472K which is what is
suggested will work. The 16472K tube even has 1:4.5/135 engraved on it but
unfortunately it does not work as the tube thread is significantly too
large. The optical unit unscrews underneath the knurled focusing ring and in
order to withdraw the optical unit you must also unscrew the leading
"tapered" ring of the focusing ring. The optical unit has a thread that is
slightly smaller in diameter than LTM thread and slightly larger than the
thread of the 16558. Am I unscrewing in the correct place? .....Help!
