While I personally don't want a lens within the normal field of view range
(and I except the 15 mm from that group) that isn't rf coupled, the wide
angles can have pretty phenomenal depth of field, even wide open. Take a
look at A Boy and His Dog, which I justed posted under B.D. on the MSN site.
It was shot wide open at f 2.8.

I don't know about its optical qualities but I can't get on with the lack of
rf coupling. The click stops are okay but... you know. People argue that DOF
is so big you shouldn't worry, but close up that's not entirely true.

Not a winner for me.
