"Stuck"? Vulcanite dries out and starts breaking off after five to ten
years. It is an industrial miracle that those of us with older LTM Leicas
still have any covering left on our cameras, at all! The leatherette is
supposed to last a heck of a lot longer, and should.

The problem, perhaps, is that the leatherette isn't available in an
identical pattern to the older Vulcanite.

(And, no, real leather isn't a decent answer, either, else you'd end up
with 'Zeiss Zits'.)
