But it could be, nevertheless, 'slit' easily without you noticing, since it is
on your back (supposedly a common practice in some countries).

I do use a backpack now an then but it seems to me that it is slower to get the
camera out and/or change the lens.

BTW, I discovered a backpack that is pretty good for carrying camera equipment.
I don't remember the exact model, but it's made by NorthFace and it has a padded
compartment for a laptop computer. It has some extra pockets and the backpack is
(again) expandable. And looks like a normal backpack. I carried in it two M6
bodies with lenses, or one R7 and one M6 body with lenses. I think even H'blad
would fit in it :-).
