Am I incorrect in the belief that the valuable-- to collectors-- first generation aspheric lens came only in black over aluminum barrels? If I am correct in my understanding, this could not be so valuable, though it might well have been a bargain at US$1,900. I guess only one guy noticed (in time) this lense was an early 35/1.4 ASPH. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=273376887 Weren't people saying they have seen these selling for $3500+? Given that, I guess the buyer got a great deal. - ----------------------
