If it doesn't come with the hood, you can buy a new one from Leica. They go used for 40 to 70. I like this lens alot. It sits on my M3 more than any other lens. It handles exceedingly well. I guess Leica decided to improve it by replacing it with the current version which I am sure is very sharp. But it also weighs considerably more.
