No....First it's normally, "The pot calling the kettle black..." The reference harks back to the days when fires blackened the bottom and sides of pots, pans, and kettles...The idea is that of course any cooking utensil is blackened, so it's pretty ridiculous for the pot to call the kettle black - or for someone who does something stupid, nasty, corrupt, or what-have-you himself to accuse another person of doing the same thing... But it's NOT racial.....;-) B. D.
