I use the Nikon Coolscan III and find it very easy to use and everything
the specs say it is.  It is the Digital Ice that makes this such a nice
scanner.  I also have the APS adapter, slide and film strip adapters.
With rebates, you can get the Nikon for about $700.  Check on cnet.com
for some comparison shopping.
