Hi, LUGgers, 

In the interest of those who would enjoy attending this event, I am posting 
the following information from the LHSA website.  The Doubletree Park Terrace 
still has rooms available at the special group rate, which is a bargain 
compared to comparable hotels in D.C. during Cherry Blossom season.  The city 
is gorgeous in April, and it couldn't be more photogenic.  The hotel is in a 
great area of town, convenient to National Geographic's HQ and many art 
galleries.  There are some notable photographic exhibitions underway at the 
Smithsonian and at the Corcoran.  If a trip to D.C. has been in your plans 
for a while, this is an ideal time to make it happen.

ACCOMMODATIONS 
 
Shooters will be staying at the Doubletree Park Terrace Hotel on Embassy Row 
near the White House and the Mall, well within walking distance of many 
interesting photo subjects.  YOU must make your individual reservations with 
he hotel, and be sure to let them know you are with LHSA and the Spring 2000 
Photo Shoot to receive the special rate of $125/single and $132/double.  For 
members driving  to Washington, a special overnight parking fee of $12 is

DATE for reservations is March 10,2000.

  2:00 pm Check-in. 
  4:00 pm Walking Photo Shoot to Capitol or Mall 
  6:00 pm Social hour in hotel lounge. 
  7:00 pm Dinner & orientation. 
  8:00 pm Bus to Lincoln Memorial for Night Shoot 
  
 Saturday, April 15   8:00 am Breakfast & orientation. 
  9:00 am Guided trips to sites. 
12:00 pm Lunch at nearby restaurants. 
2:00 pm Guided trips to sites. 
6:00 pm Social hour, dinner. 
7:30 pm Informal get-together followed by slide show by LHSA Washington 
photographer, Bob Burgess.
