Luggers,
        Someone in an earlier post mused about putting a focusing pin on a
version of the 50mm Summicron-M that doesn't have one.
        Leica USA will install a focusing pin (actually it's a tightening
screw from a bellows unit) on certain M-lenses. Inqire first,  it will nolt
work with all lenses. It will cost $100.00 (US).
        I have both the 50 Summilux and Summicron with this pin on them. See
Jim Lager's  "Leica- An Illustrated History- Volume One" page 197 or "Volume
Three" page 188 to see one.
        Mine are mounted so when the pin is at 6 o'clock, the lens is
focused at eight feet.
        FYI- I stole the idea from David Douglas Duncan, 26-ears ago.

        On Strap Length....... Do what is comfortable for YOU!!!! Don' t
worry about what anyone else does. Besides, the camera which was higher on
the chest of the Magnum guy is in the hands of his assistant making the
picture of him or her.
