Thanks to all the folks who contributed to this thread, I now have the
answer to my question. There must have been something wrong with my
Xenon. At the time I owned it (early 1960s), I'd just made the
transition from a 6x6 Zeiss folding camera with an f4.5 Novar to the
Leica, so I just assumed that the poor results I was getting were par
for the course for a pre-war f1.5 lens.
