[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]about 2 months ago alistair stewart (i _think_ it was him) posted looking for a book by a leica photographer: 1) german photographer 2) took mostly photos of his wife 3) his wife comitted suicide i think i've found at least the photographer, Seiichi Furuya a japaneese born immigrant to austria, who has a nice full length shot of his wife (complete with a lovely chrome M3 around her neck) on page 179 of "the model wife" (arthur olman editor, find it on amazon). his wife, Christine Gossler, was in and out of mental hospitals throught the course of her troubled life and by page 196 of "the model wife" has lept from a 9 story apartment building in east berlin. we see a tiny photograph of her (presumably taken from the rooftop) lying face down on a patch of dirty green grass, looking quite dead, surrounded by police officers. furuya has a book called "memories" of which i know nothing but can only assume it must be the book alistair (or someone else) was looking for. amazon has it for $35. seek and ye shall find, as they say. kc - -- how's you're new years leicaloution going? check out mine: http://www.asc.upenn.edu/usr/cassidy/pix/pad
