I use a 35 on my HM a fair bit, with no real problem.  I don't wear glasses,
so that helps.  I find I have to get my eye in closer to the finder than
with the .72, and I do more "looking around" while framing because of the
greater visual angle subtended by the framelines.  But I don't find it
particularly offputting.

Lots of people use 28's with the .72 finder and don't complain about it -
they're in the same situation as those of us using a 35 on the HM.

On the other hand, if I'm going out with just a 35, I'll usually take the
.72 body - viewing and framing with the 35 is a bit more relaxed with the
lower mag finder.  If I'm taking the 35 and the 90 though, I always take the
.85.
