Subject: [Leica] Straps

Check out the contoured Contax straps supplied some years back with the Kyocera-made
SLR cameras. These are made of a soft but indestructible nylon with a discretely
integrated non-slip shoulder pad. They fit the shoulder or neck perfectly and are the
right width for supporting all Leica M camera/lens combos, including with the M5.

I favour them over the current Leica-supplied straps in Arctic cold because the Solms
strap's shoulder pad gets extremely hard and inflexible in those conditions, suitable
only for swatting sled dogs...

The Contax strap surfaces at shows and sometimes on eBay for about $8-10. I attach
them via triangular Nikon-brand fittings, the kind with the little black plastic
inserts.
